Jimna Base Camp is the old Jimna State School. After closing in 2009, the school sports oval was converted into a 2.5-acre, flat-level, unpowered campground with amenity blocks that offer refreshing hot showers and flush toilets. In total, it offers 6-acres of quiet seclusion, right in the heart of the township of Jimna.  It is kept as a well-known secret amongst its visitors.

The old Principal’s house is now a fully furnished 3-bedroom holiday rental. Perfect for those who don’t have the camping gear!

Jimna Base Camp is ideal for general camping holidays and can be exclusively booked for your “Do-It-Yourself” groups, events, weddings, training, conferences, and so much more.

We are located in the tiny town of Jimna – the most northern part of the Somerset Region –40km north of Kilcoy, QLD. Jimna is home to the Heritage Listed Jimna Fire Tower, reportedly the tallest 3-pole timber fire tower in the Southern Hemisphere (presently closed as restoration repair work is underway).

For optimal mobile reception, Optus offers full-strength 4G.

However, Telstra reception can be inconsistent.  Some phones may have good or limited signal, whilst others may experience no reception at all.
